Privacy policy

Last updated

This policy explains what personal data Pence Per Hour (penceperhour.co.uk) collects and how it's used. The site is run by Rob Falconer, who is the data controller. Contact: CONTACT_EMAIL_TO_BE_ADDED.

The short version

  • You don't need an account, and we don't ask for your name or email address to use the site.
  • The calculators run entirely in your browser. Nothing you type into them is sent to us.
  • We don't currently use analytics or set cookies of our own.
  • We plan to show adverts from Google AdSense. When we do, Google may use cookies, and we'll ask for your consent first where the law requires it.

Server logs

Like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when a page is requested. This includes the IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser type and referring page. These logs are used to keep the site running and secure. They're kept for a limited period set by the host, and we don't use them to identify you. Our legal basis is legitimate interests (running a secure website).

Advertising and cookies (Google AdSense)

When adverts are switched on, Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show adverts and measure how they perform. Where you've given consent, they may also personalise adverts based on your visits to this and other websites. In the UK, we'll show a consent message before any non-essential advertising cookies are set, and you can change your choice at any time. You can find out more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services, and manage personalised adverts at Google's Ad Settings. We'll update this policy when adverts go live.

If you email us

If you contact us, we'll use your email address and message only to reply, and we'll delete them when they're no longer needed. Our legal basis is legitimate interests.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict how it's used. To use these rights, contact us at the address above. If you're unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Links to other sites

We link to sources such as Ofgem, Which? and manufacturers. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.
